"The most important thing is to find a way to move that brings you joy and makes you feel alive." -Kelly McGonigal, The Joy of Movement Do you ever feel like the to-dos of adulting are stealing your joy, Reader? When I lack joy, I need more playtime—the bridge between my spirit and its expression. So I'll often hop on the swing set when I'm on my walk. I pump my legs so hard that I touch the tree branches. The thrill of it is like my biggest win of the day. And you know what? I even end my swing by jumping off for an extra rush of joy! These are the perks of living across the street from a park. I often stumble upon surprise messages, sidewalk games, a bubble lady, and even rollerblade brigades—it's a playground for dogs, adults, and kids. There’s so much joy packed into one place and I love being immersed in it. Simple acts of play remind me how important it is to embrace joy daily—it's a mood lifter every time. What about you? If you've been in my orbit for a while, you've heard me discuss how Your Inner Athlete keeps playfulness alive, especially during recovery from injury or health challenges. That's because Your Inner Athlete has a direct line to your spirit and what your spirit cares about. Not only does your Inner Athlete care about feeling better and performing better, but it also cares about how much you play! Every one of us experiences pain and struggle at different points in life—it’s an unavoidable part of growth. But it’s how we move forward that matters most. How we rebuild ourselves, our confidence, our community/support system. When we rebuild with strength of character and compassion, we connect with our source—this makes us strong, resilient, and connected to humanity—truly “the triumph of the human spirit” in action.

Power isn’t something you claim, it’s something you become. This shift in perspective matters because when you try to “claim” power only in your mind, it can feel like pushing, forcing, or performing. But when you embody power, your whole system gets on board—your breath, posture, and even your presence. Your body is always dropping hints about where you’re aligned and where you’re resisting, Reader. Light, open, grounded = alignment Tight, heavy, clenched = resistance Neither is good or bad....
Something came up in conversation this week that got me thinking… and I figured you might relate, Reader. I was telling a friend how fun it was to make a last-minute decision to see The Lumineers. I’d been wanting to go, but I kept waiting to see if everything would fall into place — or, if I’m honest, to convince myself it was worth the hassle. You know, all the adult reasons not to go. Eventually, I just said to myself, Life is happening now. Go live it.Because otherwise? Life starts to...
I just celebrated my birthday, and true to my wanderer soul, I chased every playful whim, Reader. There was a vintage roller coaster, a saltwater soak in the mountains, and frolicking through Boulder with Italian food and a spark of spontaneity. It reminded me how energizing it is to choose play — even in the in-between, imperfect, or unpredictable moments. If you caught my last message, I talked about breaking out of your perception box — that mental framework that quietly shapes how you...
